Central Detective Division is looking to identify and locate the suspect who stole a police bike in Washington Square.
On Friday, January 9, 2015, at 1:10 pm, Center City District Police responded to a Radio call at 21 South 12th Street to meet a complainant on the 4th floor. After arriving at the location the Officer placed a Philadelphia Police issued Trek bicycle inside the lobby and proceeded to take the police report on the 4th floor. While the Officer was taking the Police report an unknown black male exited an elevator at approximately 1:18 pm, and takes the officer’s bicycle, containing OC spray, CPR mask, and other police equipment, and was last seen south on 12th Street towards Chestnut Street. Suspect Description: Black male, late 50-60 years-of-age, 5’10″-6’1″, 175 lbs., thin to medium build, full gray beard, wearing a a black ski hat, tan jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, tan boots. Bicycle Description: Black Trek bicycle with “Police” in white on the frame and rear cargo bag.
