Ex-Professional cyclist Matt Stephens talks to Dr James Morton, the Head of Nutrition at Team Sky to discuss how diet is used in combination with training and racing so that riders can lose weight. This can give cyclists a higher power to weight ratio, the holy grail in cycling!
Dr Morton explains how riders fuel for the days they really need it, and then under-fuel on days where it is possible to do so.
