💕🚲…kind of blowing it on the bike during #imflorida is something I’m going to be thinking about often during off season training. What the heck happened to me out there? I’ve always considered myself a strong cyclist for my height/weight/age group, but there is a lot of value in being knocked down a few levels confidence wise. Mentally, I just wanted to get off that bike. At mile 56, I saw a girl using a foam roller and eating snacks. We caught eyes and exchanged hardships. She offered me her roller and it was glorious. It was then that I recognized her. OMFG, that’s Cassie DePecol, 2x Guinness book record holder for the first (and fastest!) woman to visit every sovereign country in the world. This woman has been through so much (she’s a solo traveler!) and there she was, sweating it out just like me. Hopping off the bike for just a few minutes and meeting @cassiedepecol was just what I needed mentally to keep moving on. . To me, that 112 miles is arduous. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
