Driver who killed cyclist on St. Johns Bridge gets 3.5 years

Drunk, speeding Corvette driver gets 6 years for killing cyclist

Willard Tow, 61, swerved into a bike lane, killing cyclist Andrzej Kurkowski, 77, on Multnomah Blvd. in SW Portland. Tow’s blood alcohol was .28 percent, and he had been braking when he struck Kurkowski at 55 mph, according to the prosecution. Tow was sentenced Monday, May 22, 2017.
